Texas wedding thoughts
Some thoughts regarding the wedding I attended in East-Central Texas this weekend:
1. I didn't end up officiating, which I decided was a good thing. The minister had a pretty long script, and if I'd just ad-libbed the thing it wouldn't have sounded nearly so convincing.
2. The normal worry at an outdoor wedding in Texas over Memorial Day weekend would be the heat. However, in this case it was rainy and cool (high 60s / lower 70s). The big threat was flooding.
3. You could hear guns being fired in the background. I'm not sure whether it was the sound of hunting or a family squabble.
4. As cute as they are, you should be very wary of using young kids in a wedding ceremony. I don't care if it's flower girl or organist, something could go wrong.
5. Ladies, just accept that guys don't like dancing. The ones that say they do are either self-deluded or liars.
6. Family members at my table: you know who you are. I want my $70.
